Yeah...you can probably tell, I'm not really one for all this Valentine malarkey....and no, I'm not saying this because I am single. I just feel that it is another thing to extract money from gullible/weak people (kinda the way Christmas, Easter and other times arounf the year are going too...just a way to make you spend more money, all just over-commercialised claptrap!).

After all, if you love a person that much, surely you would not just buy roses, chocolates and other romantic crap just a few times a year (I'm including anniversaries and birthdays in the mix), but you will buy things for the one you love all year around....so what exactly is so bloody special about St Valentine's Day?

If I have got this all wrong, then someone please explain it to me, but all I see here is a waste of money and time....would I feel the same if I was in a relationship? Yup, pretty much, I felt the same when I was with my ex, although I did buy her a card and a gift, but I used to buy her gifts, write her poems and all that soppy stuff all the time, I loved her that much...simple really. I sometimes wonder if she really apprieciated it (maybe it was too much, who knows...I had several issues that needed to be resolved while I was with her - not her fault I must stress that - so maybe I went overkill on things sometimes) but I thought it was good to show how much I loved her.
