Tis the season to be jolly..pffft yeah right!
I really hate this time of year, it is a season for hypocrites and greedy corporations squeezing every every penny out of people (who usually cannot afford it).
I find it bizarre that many people celebrate Christmas yet are not religious.
And what is with the gifts? People feel they are obliged to buy gifts for people they would not get a birthday present...take note that I get gifts for people all year round, I don't need to wait for a holiday to give someone something special!
The stores have been promoting the Silly Season since March in somes stores..and some places even earlier than that!
Despite all this there is one thing that Christmas is good for...it seems to be a good time for families to get together...people may not see kin often but probably see each other then.
Still hate Christmas though, bah humbug!
I agree with this wholeheartedly Common Sense it seems Yam has gone out of the window.
ReplyDeleteChristmas to me these days promotes shallow
So imagine my families initial shock when I told them the present money I had aside was going on a worthy cause
It felt right to do and it was in memory of a dear friend who died this year.
They soon understood and agreed wholeheartedly with my decision.
My love for my family doesn't diminish and their need of more stuff should be nil and so a perfect sentiment to me
I suddenly felt better about the whole christmas gig this year
